Now that we can start feeling the seasons change and the sun rising earlier each day, it’s time to dust out the cobwebs and get ready for a Summer of Sunshine. Spring is a great time to do all those household tasks that you keep putting off and free up your time for the coming holidays.

It is important to put time aside every few months to give your home a thorough clean to prevent the build-up of dust, mould and mildew. While these tasks may seem boring and time consuming it is important to give your home a refresh for a clean, healthy environment for you and your family.

Spring is the time for new beginnings and growth and what better time than to give your home a breath of fresh air and a clean, fresh smell.

Every Room Spring Cleaning List

Begin with a general clean of all rooms, starting from the top to the bottom. Then follow onto specific tasks relevant to each room.

We have made a list and encourage you to add on any additional tasks you may need for your rooms.

• Dust and wipe down all ceiling fans and light fittings
• Replace any faulty light bulbs.
• Clean aircon filters and exhaust fans.
• Test your smoke alarms
• Clean any marks on walls and door frames
• Wash inside of windows
• Clean window sills and window tracks
• Clean door tracks.
• Vacuum curtains and window blinds and wash if required
• Wipe down skirtings around the room.
• Disinfect the handles on doors and cupboards
• Wipe down light switches.

Bedroom Spring Cleaning List

• Organize your drawers and closets and clear out any expired products and items your no longer need.
• Air out your mattress and rotate.
• Wash all your bedding and pillows.
• Clear out your bedside tables and change the décor for an instant pick me up.

Kids Bedroom Spring Cleaning List

• Organize your kids drawers and closets and clear out any clothes they no longer wear.
• Air out their mattress and rotate.
• Wash all their bedding and pillows.
• Clear out any old or broken toys. Clean and disinfect toys they still play with.

Bathroom Spring Cleaning Checklist

• Clear out old and unused medicines, toiletries, and make-up.
• Clean and repack cabinets and drawers.
• Scrub the bathtub and shower.
• Wipe down tiles, mirrors and shower glass.
• Donate old and unused towels and bathmats to Animal Shelters
• Scrub the toilet and walls around the toilet.

Kitchen Spring Cleaning Checklist

• Clear out cupboards and wipe down shelves.
• Repack kitchenware and dispose of any broken or unwanted items.
• Clear out any old or expired food products.
• Clean and repack drawers, disposing of unwanted items.
• Clean all the appliances in your kitchen.
• Empty the crumb tray in your toaster.
• Give your oven a thorough clean and clean the stovetop and grill plates.
• Defrost and clean your freezer.
• Clean the refrigerator, including behind the refrigerator.
• Clean the dishwasher.
• Clean the sink and drain pipes.

• Wipe down the tiles and countertops.

Home Office Spring Cleaning Checklist

• Clear out and repack cupboards and shelves.
• Dispose of old paperwork.
• Wipe down work surfaces and furniture.
• Disinfect your computer mouse and clean your computer screen and keyboard.
• Refresh any artwork and motivational signs.

Laundry and linen Cupboards Spring Cleaning Checklist

• Clear out and repack cupboards and shelves.
• Dispose of old cleaning products.
• Donate old linen to Animal shelters or Charity stores.
• Wipe down your dryer and clean lint traps.
• Run a wash cycle on empty on your washing machine and clean out any pipes and drainage plus. Wipe down the washing machine on the front and back.

Living and Dining Room Spring Cleaning Checklist

• Clear out and repack cupboards and shelves.
• Wipe down all wooden furniture and appliances.
• Disinfect remote controls.
• Wash cushion covers and vacuum sofa and chairs.

Outdoor Spring Cleaning Check List

• Dispose of any unwanted items laying around the garden.
• Clean and disinfect your bins.
• Remove window screens and wash with warm soapy water. Rinse and replace after washing the windows.
• Wash your deck and outdoor furniture.
• Clear out your garage and sell/donate any unwanted items.
• Clean outdoor shed.
• Clean Children’s outdoor toys and play area.
• Clean pool, pumps, filters, and wash tiles around pool.
