Seventeen years ago my husband and I packed two suitcases each, bundled up our two small boys, and moved from South Africa to Australia — a country we had never even visited.

When COVID hit, the business I was running lost its manufacturer overnight — and I had to start again.

I asked myself what truly mattered to our family. The answer led me straight to what I love.

The answer was easy.

Home.

I started Beautiful Home Decor with no ecommerce background — just determination and a genuine love for creating beautiful comfortable spaces. Along the way I completed a diploma in interior design — because if I was going to help women create homes they love I wanted to do it properly.

These days I'm a mum of two grown boys — after many years on soccer and futsal sidelines — living on the Gold Coast surrounded by nature and more wildlife than you'd expect.

Including the koala we rescued from our pool one night.

He was heavy, incredibly strong, and completely unimpressed with us — but we managed to get him out safely. After a quick visit to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary he was released back into the area by Wildcare Australia — and it was so lovely hearing him back in the trees again.

Moments like that remind me why I love where I live — and how much home is about the feeling around you, not just what's inside.

My own home is a mix of coastal, Hamptons, and a touch of boho — soft greens, neutrals, and natural textures that make the space feel relaxed and lived in. The kind of home where family gathers, and yes, where our fur babies have claimed their favourite spot on our shaggy rug.

Because every woman deserves a home that feels calm, comfortable, and completely hers.
